This privacy policy is designed to clearly show how Honesberie shooting School processes your personal data in line with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as a data controller.

1.0 Why and how we process your data?

Honesberie Shooting Club holds and processes information of its guests and members for the following purposes:

  • As part of our service to you as a shooting school, we may collect video and photographic images while you are shooting at the club to use in brochures, invitations, books, television, websites and social media.
  • Personal contact details to send you occasional news and offers about the shooting school via email or post.
  • Personal contact details to send any service based or safety communication relating to the shooting school and the services it provides via email, SMS, telephone or post.

2.0 What information do we collect, control and processes, and why?

2.1 Collection

Honesberie Shooting school only collects the information listed above and for the reasons stated. We only ever collect and process data that fully complies with the six lawful reasons to process personal data, which are given below:

Consent: you have given clear consent for us to

process your personal data for a specific purpose.

Contract: the processing is necessary for a contract we have with you, or because you have asked us to take specific steps before entering into a contract.

Legal obligation: the processing is necessary for us to comply with the law (not including contractual obligations).

Vital interests: the processing is necessary to protect someone’s life.

Public task: the processing is necessary for us to perform a task in the public interest or for our official functions, and the task or function has a clear basis in law.

Legitimate interests: the processing is necessary for our legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of a third-party, unless there is a good reason to protect the individual’s personal data that overrides those legitimate interests.

Honesberie Shooting school only holds the minimal amount of data required to fulfil the requirements stated in paragraph 1.0.

 2.2 Profiling

Honesberie Shooting school does not electronically profile any personal information or make any automated decisions based on the data collected or service given.

3.0 Is this information shared?

We only use your data in the manner and for the purposes stated on collection. It will only be shared with approved third-parties who need to access it to carry out their duties in line with the services Honesberie Shooting school offers to its members and guests.

We will also share personal data with the following external bodies when required to:

  • Regulators and government authorities, such as HMRC or the police, if we are required to do so by law or if we regard the authority’s request to be reasonable.
  • Our insurers, legal advisers or other third-parties who need access to your data for managing, investigating or defending claims or complaints.

You will be informed of any use of your personal data and the legal reason for its use. We take the security and confidentiality of your information very seriously.

4.0 International transfers

We do not store or transfer any data outside of the UK. If this was ever to be the case, you would be informed through the contact details supplied.

5.0 Data Retention

Personal data is stored for 3 years on registration with the club as a guest. Any member data is stored for the period to which the contract remains extant; after the termination of such contract data is also stored for 3 years.

6.0 What are your data subjects’ rights?

The following is a summary of the rights given by the law to everyone whose personal data we hold in respect of that data.

  • You have the right to obtain your personal data from us, except in exceptional circumstances (for example, if the information would hinder the prevention, detection or investigation of a crime).
    • Where we provide it, the first copy will be free of charge, but we reserve the right to charge a small fee for additional requests to cover administration.
  • You have the right to require us to rectify any inaccurate personal data we hold concerning you.
    • Taking into account the purposes of the processing, you may also have the right to have incomplete personal data completed, by means of providing a supplementary statement or information.
    • You have the right to require us to erase your personal data on certain limited grounds (including where they are no longer necessary for the purpose for which they were collected or where you withdraw your consent and there are no other legal grounds for processing).

Archery/Crossbow

  • Booking of Archery and Crossbow needs to be done at least 48 hours in advance.  A 50% non-refundable deposit will need to be paid upon booking. The final 50% will need to be paid two weeks prior to the event. If booked within two weeks of the vent the total 100% will eb taken upon booking.
  • Honesberie Shooting school has a zero-alcohol policy when conducting activities and reserves the right to refuse individuals partaking in shooting activities at their discretion.
  • Honesberie Shooting School does not accept responsibility for any injury, loss or damage occurring whilst on these premises.
  • You must be supervised at all times by an instructor
  • Honesberie Shooting School will issue hearing and eye protection (in the form of safety glasses, earplugs and headphones) which you are obliged to where whilst on the shooting grounds.
  • Honesberie Shooting School will not be liable for any loss or damage to the property of the client or their guests.

 

Air rifle

  • Air Rifle range is open to everyone
  • Sign in and sign out form must be completed when using the Air Rifle Range
  • Payment needs to be upfront when using the air rifle range
  • Please phone ahead and check that the range is not booked out for exclusive use
  • Honesberie Shooting school has a zero-alcohol policy when conducting activities and reserves the right to refuse individuals partaking in shooting activities at their discretion.
  • Honesberie Shooting School does not accept responsibility for any injury, loss or damage occurring whilst on these premises.
  • Honesberie Shooting School will not be liable for any loss or damage to the property of the client or their guests.
  • Honesberie Shooting School will issue hearing and eye protection (in the form of safety glasses, earplugs and headphones) which you are obliged to where whilst on the shooting grounds.
  • Shooting anything other than targets supplied by Honesberie Shooting School will result in an instant ban from Honesberie Shooting. This includes wildlife, signs, machinery etc.

 

Rifle Range

  • Honesberie rifle club is a Home Office Approved range.

  • Honesberie Shooting school has a zero-alcohol policy when conducting activities and reserves the right to refuse individuals partaking in shooting activities at their discretion.
  • Honesberie Shooting School does not accept responsibility for any injury, loss or damage occurring whilst on these premises.
  • Honesberie Shooting School complies with Section 21 of the Firearms Act 1968 and all persons shall declare that they are not prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under Section 21.
  • Honesberie Shooting School will not be liable for any loss or damage to the property of the client or their guests.
  • Honesberie Shooting School will issue hearing and eye protection (in the form of safety glasses, earplugs and headphones) which you are obliged to wear whilst on the shooting grounds.
  • No one is permitted on the rifle range without supervision by a Honesberie member of staff.
  • The following ammunition is prohibited on the range:
  1. Tracer; incendiary; armor-piercing; armour piercing incendiary (API); depleted uranium; ammunition containing any igniferous or explosive substance.
  2. Projectiles that are not constructed of pure lead, lead alloy, or a lead core with a    jacket of gilding metal or soft iron. Lead-free mono-metallic bullets may be used during specific events that are controlled and planned by the NSC. They are otherwise forbidden.
  • No firearm and ammunition combination which develops muzzle energy exceeding 10000-foot pounds may be used on the range.

 

Shotgun Lessons/experiences

  • All lessons and experiences to be paid for upon booking
  • 48-hour cancelation policy applies
  • Lessons and experiences are open to anyone over the age of 8 years old
  • You do not need to have a shotgun license to have a lesson/experience at Honesberie shooting as we are protected under Section 11-6
  • People may come and watch but must sign a disclaimer
  • You must be registered on our system prior to starting your lesson
  • Only 21g, fibre wad, Honesberie Shooting School load cartridges to be shot on our grounds
  • Honesberie Shooting school has a zero-alcohol policy when conducting activities and reserves the right to refuse individuals partaking in shooting activities at their discretion.
  • Honesberie Shooting School does not accept responsibility for any injury, loss or damage occurring whilst on these premises.
  • Honesberie Shooting School complies with Section 21 of the Firearms Act 1968 and all persons shall declare that they are not prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under Section 21.
  • Honesberie Shooting School will not be liable for any loss or damage to the property of the client or their guests.
  • Honesberie Shooting School will issue hearing and eye protection (in the form of safety glasses, earplugs and headphones) which you are obliged to wear whilst on the shooting grounds.

 

Shotgun Self Caddy/Caddy

  • Self-caddied rounds are only to be conducted by shotgun licence holders
  • Caddied rounds can be conducted by both licence holders and non-license holders
  • Only 21g, fibre wad, Honesberie Shooting School load cartridges to be shot on our grounds
  • Lessons take priority over self-caddied/caddied rounds in regard to shooting stands
  • Honesberie Shooting school has a zero-alcohol policy when conducting activities and reserves the right to refuse individuals partaking in shooting activities at their discretion.
  • Honesberie Shooting School does not accept responsibility for any injury, loss or damage occurring whilst on these premises.
  • Honesberie Shooting School complies with Section 21 of the Firearms Act 1968 and all persons shall declare that they are not prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under Section 21.
  • Honesberie Shooting School will not be liable for any loss or damage to the property of the client or their guests.
  • Honesberie Shooting School will issue hearing and eye protection (in the form of safety glasses, earplugs and headphones) which you are obliged to wear whilst on the shooting grounds.

Gun Shop

  • Gun shop sales can only be made in person.  Telephone or online orders cannot be processed.
  • Deposits are required for non-stock, Special Orders and personalised items.  This deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancellation requests for standard stock items can, in many circumstances, be processed.  Please speak to the gun shop.
  • Return requests for standard stock items can be processed in the event of a fault within 60 days. Return requests for any other reasons cannot be issued, but please speak to the gun shop.
  • Cancellation or return requests for non-stock, special orders or personalised items cannot be processed unless faulty or not as described.
  • These terms do not affect your statutory rights.

On-site Events and booking

  • Any change in VAT legislation will be passed on to you, whether the change is an increase or a decrease.
  • Honesberie Shooting School is licenced to serve alcohol and late-night refreshments.
  • Honesberie Shooting School has Live Music and Recorded Music licence.
  • Honesberie Shooting School has a fully licenced bar.
  • Honesberie Shooting school has a zero-alcohol policy when conducting activities and reserves the right to refuse individuals partaking in shooting activities at their discretion.
  • Honesberie Shooting School does not accept responsibility for any injury, loss or damage occurring whilst on these premises.
  • Honesberie Shooting School will issue hearing and eye protection (in the form of safety glasses, earplugs and headphones) which you are obliged to wear whilst on the shooting grounds.
  • Honesberie Shooting School complies with Section 21 of the Firearms Act 1968 and all persons shall declare that they are not prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under Section 21.
  • Honesberie Shooting School will not be liable for any loss or damage to the property of the client or their guests.
  • Honesberie Shooting School shall not be liable for any failure to provide the services contracted for in the event of it being prevented from doing so as a result of fire, storm, flood, disturbances, riot, industrial action or any other causes beyond its control.
  • With regard to allergens, Honesberie Shooting School will endeavour to provide where required specialist dietary requirements and due care is taken to avoid cross-contamination of allergens. However, Honesberie Shooting School cannot guarantee that all traces have been eliminated.

 

Offsite Events and Booking

  • 50% non-refundable deposit required upon booking.
  • Precise details of your requirements and final numbers must be given 14 days before the function. 100% charge if cancelled less than 2 working days before the event.
  • The full balance is to be paid 14 days before the event unless otherwise agreed in writing by Honesberie Shooting School.
  • Any change in VAT legislation will be passed on to you, whether the change is an increase or a decrease.
  • Honesberie Shooting school has a zero-alcohol policy when conducting activities and reserves the right to refuse individuals partaking in shooting activities at their discretion.
  • Honesberie Shooting School does not accept responsibility for any injury, loss or damage occurring whilst on these premises.
  • Honesberie Shooting School will issue hearing and eye protection (in the form of safety glasses, earplugs and headphones) which you are obliged to wear whilst on the shooting grounds.
  • Honesberie Shooting School complies with Section 21 of the Firearms Act 1968 and all persons shall declare that they are not prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under Section 21.

Cancellation policy

  • 100% charge if cancelled less than 2 working days before the event.
  • 50% charge if cancelled within 14 days before the event
  • If an event is postponed due to external factors, then the date can be transferred without additional payments.
  • Honesberie Shooting School shall not be liable for any failure to provide the services contracted for in the event of it being prevented from doing so as a result of fire, storm, flood, disturbances, riot, industrial action or any other causes beyond its control.

 

Food

  • With regard to allergens, Honesberie Shooting School will endeavour to provide where required specialist dietary requirements and due care is taken to avoid cross-contamination of allergens. However, Honesberie Shooting School cannot guarantee that all traces have been eliminated.
  • Outside food is not to be consumed on the premises unless previously stipulated in writing with Honesberie Shooting School
  • Honesberie Shooting school will not take responsibility for any food consumed on the premises that are not provided by Honesberie shooting school
  • External Caterers will be fully liable for any food they bring onto the premises or prepare on the premises

 

Smoking

  • Smoking is NOT permitted in any Honesberie Shooting Building including enclosed stands.
  • The ban on smoking is extended to include the areas immediately outside all buildings and windows within the curtilage of Honesberie Shooting School property where tobacco smoke could cause a nuisance to occupants.

 

Open Fire

  • Honesberie Shooting School does not accept responsibility for any injury, loss or damage occurring whilst on these premises.
  • Honesberie Shooting School DO NOT burn treated waste wood or household rubbish
  • Honesberie Shooting School regularly maintain and service their log burners
  • Members of the public are NOT PERMITTED to tend to any fire or put any product on any fire within Honesberie Shooting School

 

Fire exits

  • Fire Exits are located downstairs in the main Shooting Lodge and clearly signed
  • Fire Exits are located upstairs in the boardroom. They are clearly signposted and unlocked when the boardroom is occupied
  • The meeting place in case of fire is the bridge in the car park.

 

Boardroom

  • 50% non-refundable deposit required upon booking.
  • Precise details of your requirements and final numbers must be given 14 days before the function. 100% charge if cancelled less than 2 working days before the event.
  • The full balance is to be paid 14 days before the event unless otherwise agreed in writing by Honesberie Shooting School.

First Aid

  • It is the school’s policy to provide first aid support to someone if they are injured or become unwell in school and to ensure that the school complies with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981
  • There are First Aid boxes on designated stands around the ground.

 

Open Water

  • Honesberie Shooting School does not support or approve the use of any area of open water for swimming or other in/on -water recreational activity unless it is previously organised in writing with Honesberie Shooting school
  • Honesberie Shooting School does not accept responsibility for any injury, loss or damage occurring whilst on these premises.

 

Dogs

  • Honesberie Shooting School allows you to bring your dog however the dog must be kept on a lead and under control at all times and they are not permitted in the clubhouse
  • Honesberie Shooting School has some on-site dogs that use the lodge and furniture. If you have an allergy to canines, please be aware of this before entering our lodge.
  • Honesberie Shooting School does not accept responsibility for any injury, loss or damage occurring whilst on these premises.
  • You must pick up after your dog and dispose responsibly. Do not leave in a tree or bush etc. failure to comply with this rule will result in your dog being banned from Honesberie Shooting School
